Great Player
Great device and easy to use. Mine came charged with a tutorial loaded in the video file. The guy on the video walks you through all the functions of this player. It comes with a program to convert videos, a program to link your device with music through Rhapsody. The sound is great and the videos look great, and of course, you can't beat the price!

Ignore negative reviews and buy this player!!!
Bought this player nearly a year ago, and it has been worth every penny.
On the upside, the fit, finish, feel, and build quality are outstanding. It is very easy to use and has all the features you need in an mp3/video player.

I bought this for the 3.5" screen primarily to watch videos and it's great for video playback and viewing pictures. However, the sound quality is nowhere near as good as my Sony Walkman. The earphones included are not as comfortable as other players, all plastic. The built in speakers are worthless for listening to music or videos so don't buy this for that feature alone. Great Video Player
I am using this as a training tool for our MetaphorGolf System. Easily I can share videos at the practice tee or during a conversation of how the Golf swing works and why. Although most Golf swings look similar I can demonstrated the subtle differences that our precision swing can propel a ball 515 yards by Mike Austin when he was 64 years old in 1974 during a PGA Senior Tournament.

Good enough that we bought 2 of them
These Philips GoGears are great little gizmos for storing MP3s, pictures & videos. We have 2 of them, a 2GB bought a couple of years ago & an 8GB bought last year.
The 8GB recently had a glitch but even though the warranty had expired, Philips sent a free replacement.
It stores copious images & songs, and the only negative I have found is the speaker quality - they produce a very tinny sound. That said, we use them mostly with headphones anyway, and have a small set of mini spea...

Some issues
I used Amazon feedback and Consumer Reports for my decision. Couple issues with the unit:
1) I have not used it that much, but it has hung a few times.
2) One of the features CR indicated was that one could delete songs on the unit. It DOES NOT allow that, although apparently a firmware upgrade will install that functionality. My initial attempts at the firmware upgrade have not worked. I have not had time to try again. But overall I am happy with the device.

So far so good
I've had this item for a bit over a month and have had very few major problems.
The few I found were:
a) I would've preferred to load playlists on it by just copying folders from my PC. With this, I have to make the playlists using MS Media Player 11 and syncing them to this mp3 player. It's fairly easy to do; but, it takes a while even with a USB 2.0 port.
b) Also, having to download special programs to view images and videos is kind of a pain. I use MS Movie...

I wanna say thanks to Daniel Z. Richardson from fort worth texas. His review was really helpful and was partly why i bought the Phillips Phillips SA61. Good but not great
The GoGear is not a bad buy at all. I first checked for any firmware upgrade, and that was a breeze. Screen size was comparable to the iTouch, and the resolution was decent. The sound was also good, including the speakers, but the supplied ear phones were rubbish. The player's build had a nice finish, and i-Nique had a cool case for less than 40 dollars. Loading videos was reasonably easy, but took a bit of time. WMV is the format of choice, requiring me to convert all my flash videos firs...

NICE mp3 player!
This mp3 player has a clear, large screen. The functions are easy to use. The external speakers are an excellent feature, too.
