You get what you pay for
I bought this as a temporary MP3 player until I got a replacement for my 80 GB Zune. For $15 this is an okay product. The battery life is great (it takes a single AAA) and it satisfactorily plays music. The latter is what my lenient rating is based on, since you can't expect much else from a $15 player. Although it plays music satisfactorily, it's definitely not a player I would want to use for a prolonged period of time. So, here are the cons:

Good for the price...
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) I got this item as a backup mp3 player/flash drive. It works well as a flash drive, no complaints there. However the sound quality is somewhat tinny and harsh. It organizes the songs by album, and there is no shuffle, so you don't have much choice as to the variety of songs and you have to listen to. Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) The reason I gave this product a 1 star was because I emailed Coby for the products software, because it had none, and I am still waiting for them to respond. It's been about 3 weeks now. The thing that really angers me is that the trouble shooting section of the instruction booklet state that the website has the firmwares but it doesn't.

Great Little Player!
This is the second Coby mp3 player I've bought for my son. He used the last one until it fell apart on the payground! Until then, it worked really well. So for this one is holding up. More than enough room for his music! We didn't use the earphones that it comes with because of a lead warning on the package, so we got him regular headphones. Great little player for a small price!
