Two words: App Store.
I found the new iPod touch to be a little more attractive than the first gen. The slimmer design though thicker in the middle fits my hand a lot better. The app store is absolutely amazing so far. Such applications as AIM Twitterific and games makethe device much more than a music player and really take advantage of the touch control interface. Coming From A First-Time Ipod Touch Owner - I Don't Know How I Lived Without This Thing!

Love it!!!
I was so excited to replace my 4th generation iPod with the 2nd gen iPod touch. Of course this was a major upgrade. It's great to have the speaker, which isn't that loud at the highest volume, if I just want to listen without earbuds. The volume control on the side is also a great feature. It's fun to have the applications. I love how I can download apps or songs directly onto the iPod via wifi. Then when I connect it to iTunes, the apps and songs are backed up.

Amazing - Difficult to Imagine a Better Device

Almost "Untouchable"
One year ago I purchased the 16GB original iPod Touch. At that time, I found that even though it had some flaws, the over-all package made it one of the best iPods available. Now, one year later, Apple has released the next generation Touch. iTouch 2nd generation
I purchased a 16 GB iTouch about 3 months ago, and it just recently started having issues; the internal speakers won't turn off even I plug headphones into it. I shipped it off to apple to have it looked at, and I figured that they would replace/fix it because it was still under warranty. However, I received a response from apple claiming that my iTouch had come in contact with liquid and therefore they would not replace/fix the iTouch.
