Excellent product with easy directions. It matters which way you point the tool that opens the ipod. Make sure the scoop is pointed downward. This thing revived my 400.00 ipod for around 25.00. I could'nt be happier. Easy to install. You won't be sorry you bought it.

Nice & Easy Ipod battery kit
 
I was able to replace my Ipod battery in 30 minutes, including extra time to follow the step-by-step instructions exactly. Getting it back together took time since the new battery was slightly wider (due to loose wrapper) than the old one and needed a little pushing to get it to fit next to the hard drive.

vague directions, difficult if you don't know the anatomy of an ipod.
 
The directions are very unclear and the plastic tool that it comes with, broke on me after only using it for about 10 minutes. I ripped a cord on the inside of the ipod because it's so hard to pry the two pieces apart. I ended up super-glueing the strip back together and luckily it works. The battery did turn my ipod back on, I am grateful for that, but it won't completely fit back together at the top where the battery is. It's putting a dent-type figure into my screen and I have no functionalit...

Purchased product and spent frustrating evening trying to replace battery in 80 gb ipod. Tool referred to in instructions is merely a small screwdriver. The 2nd plastic tool was cheap plastic that broke in 30 seconds. The co. sent a double order by mistake, used 2nd one and had same result. I consider myself handy and comfortable around electronics. Followed directions precisely but could not pop ipod open. Finally tried to create own tool as the tiny sd provided simply destroyed the case of...

Worked just fine
 
This was the least expensive ipod replacement battery I could find and it works (after a few months, in any event) just fine. The little plastic tool for opening the case didn't work and shredded after a couple of tries, so I used a kitchen knife. I meant to buy the battery, though, not the tool, so that wasn't a big deal. Youtube has good video instructions for the battery changeout.
