Pros: For the price, I have yet to see a better set. Contrast, brightness, black levels and viewing angles are all excellent. I have a large picture window in the room with this set and wash-out and reflections are almost nill.

Great tv and value for the price!
I bought this television at best buy a few weeks ago, and I am incredibly happy with it. As stated by other reviewers, this is a SOLID entry level hdtv with only minor drawbacks.
Picture Quality: is GREAT. Those with INCREDIBLY picky eyes will be the ones that sit there and analyze each pixel, but the bottom line is this is a 1080p television and the blu-rays and video games I play through my PS3 (playstation 3) look fantastic. Absolutely can't beat the quality for the price!!

a solid entry-level LCD...
If you are, like I was, looking for a 40"-42" flat screen television for a secondary room (bedroom/den) then this Toshiba is worthy of consideration. The picture quality is very good, its digital tuner is sensitive (ie, brings in lots of stations), and its priced very competitively. My only complaints are:
- you will need to fiddle plenty with the color controls to get something that looks decent. Out of the box I found flesh tones looked very orange-y.

Great HDTV for its price, but...

I uploaded a video of the Toshiba 40RV525R displaying some TV, Blu-Ray, and video game. (Just a small reference... obviously not going to be exactly how you see it in real life from a recorded video camera; on top of that, an internet video/low resolution/etc...)

I love it!

Pros: PRICE! (cheaper than most other TVs in this size)
I bought this TV as a monitor/TV for my bedroom. I didnt bother checking out TVs to see how large a 40 inch would be in person before hand at local stores and underestimated the size of this thing. It takes up my full desk and is HUGE (when sitting within 4-6 feet of it).

Easy to setup and great picture
I bought the Toshiba to replace a Sharp LC37D6U that had a defective sound card.
It was very easy to set up right out of the box, great picture and compatiable w my Cox DVR.
So far a very positive experience. Recommend the product

Fair but not great
Bought this from J&R/Amazon as a bedroom TV and have now had it for about 3 weeks. It is easy to set up and operate.
I detect that standard TV signals (as opposed to HDTV) received do not show as well on this Toshiba when compared to those received on a Panasonic Plasma that I have in my living room. Not impressed
Out of the box the picture is not sharp at all. Better with HD channels, but still not as clear as expected. After looking through the manual and troubleshooting, still can't find a decent solution. Don't know if this a defective tv or just the way it's supposed to look. Toshiba customer support not available, so will try to contact them tomorrow.

Pros: Pretty good for Blu-Ray. Blu-Ray movies look good on this HDTV. Nice size for the price but....
Cons: I'm only using this TV for PS3/360 and the picture is not that good. I am very disappointed in the video quality. The picture even at 1080p looks washed out, smudgy, just not a crisp HD image I was hoping for.
