There's a new favorite TV in our house
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) Setup was so easy I didn't bother cracking the manual. Picture is great and channel-changing is much faster than on a similar Sharp I got 2 years ago for twice the price.

Great picture, but not for the hard of hearing!
I just got this unit last week. It's light, it's sleek, its picture is fantastic, but it's sound is not always as loud as you might like. Most channels are fine, but some, even when the volume is set to max, are too soft. I'm looking for an inexpensive sound bar to augment the unit's small speakers. If you have a smaller room, say 10 x 12, this will be great. But if you have a larger room, 15 x 15 or more, or are in a noisy house, you may be disappointed. I hope Toshiba is listening!!

sound & sensitivity problems
Bought two flat panel HDTVs, this one and a Vizio, The Vizio is superb. This set only ranks as average or slightly below. If you have any slight hearing problem, you will not get enough sound level out of this set on a digital channel to be able to hear it clearly. Had to add Radio Shack's amplified speakers plugged into the headphone jack of the TV in order to correct this problem. The tuner is not anywhere near as sensitive as it should be. Unless your a bat, don't buy this
Ordered this t.v. for our kitchen. Could not hear at maximum volume without turning off a/c, fan, and sitting 1 foot away from t.v.. Checked reviews on the web and this complaint is widespread. Everyone returned this item.
There is a comparable Sharp t.v with pretty much the same features on Amazon, (although it is backordered) , which we just ordered--This time we checked reviews on the web !

Poor sound, but good quality video.
I just purchased this tv/dvd player for the bedroom. The set allows me to program it to DirectV's remote (wonderful!), it has a full compliment of picture settings for my preferred viewing, (no red people) and the manual is easy to understand.
However, the sound is very poor. I have it up as far as it will adjust to and it still can't be heard well from more than 6 feet. I may have to return it to the store. However, this seems to be a problem with most small LCD TV's.

Wow! (from one not easily 'wowed')
Bought this unit for our RV for over air HDTV and DVD/DivX, Netflix downloaded Movies. We have it ceiling mounted so it takes up no valuable counter space. Firstly, it arrived 2 weeks earlier than promised (supposed to be released May 1, arrived April 14th), so that was great!

First Flat Screen TV, and I am very happy.
It was a challenge to get this TV, my first unit was stolen while en route from UPS, Amazon was very good with customer service, and ended up purchasing the second unit from an Amazon Marketplace seller who shipped FedEx. It took a week to ship, but finally received the TV about 2 weeks ago. First, I have never owned a flat screen, I replaced a 13 inch CRT with Mono sound, so my viewing experience has improved tremendously.

Best in class HDTV/DVD Combo
This is a very nice small HDTV. It is the 22" version of Toshiba's latest (2009) revamp of their 19, 22 and 26" LCD HDTV DVD combo line up. I bought it to fit in our boat during the summer months and take home for a bedroom in the winter. It needed to be surface mounted in the boat and on its stand in the winter. Poor sound
picture is great... very low poor sound.. plan on adding computer speakers, luckly the TV has a headphone jack that will allow a hook up. I had to LOL when I call Toshiba, they suggested I sit 2 feet away, even 2 feet.. sound turned all the way up is very low.

Very nice!
The picture and features are great. Although I don't have much need for the built-in DVD player, it was only $20 more than the model without the DVD. As noted by other reviews, the volume level can be a bit low, especially for larger rooms.
