One awesome TV
I may be a little biased, as this is my first HDTV, but the 52 inch Sharp Aquos really works for me. I was a little concerned that the picture would look strange at certain angles, like my Samsung monitor does, but that doesn't seem to be the case. Even at rather extreme angles the Aquos looks just fine, the only real difference is that the colors become weaker and not quite as strong. Great TV for the price!
At less than $1300.00, this was by far the cheapest 52" LCD HDTV out there AND it's a Sharp Aquos. It looks great, both form and picture, has lots of inputs and works perfectly.

Pros: This TV is large. It has good color and I havn't noticed any outstanding problems with compression in the dark blacks or bright whites.
It has lots of IO and the VGA connector will allow you to drive the screen up to 1600x1200 from a PC (although, if you can, go get a DVI to HDMI cable and drive the TV via that).
The remote feels nice.
