Lots for little
Bought this Philips TV as we were looking for a LCD 42" set without breaking the bank. There are those who would want more in a TV I am sure. These are the same folks who want more in anything they buy. But for the cost of this set, we are very happy with the easy of setup, the quality of the picture and the many options of connecting external devices.

Got it, Love it, Go get yourself one.
After reading reviews about this tv before purchase,
and even though I wasnt sure about going with Philips,
(I'm partial to Toshiba/Samsung)
I got this HDTV, and after owning it for 1 week.
I AM HAPPY AND ITS SUPER CLEAR, COLORS ARE GREAT, HD Content Looks amazing.
I upgraded to this from a 34inch Toshiba CRT HDTV so I'm not new to the HDTV world. I also have my Xbox360 connected to this over component, and its putting out 1080p to the tv, and my cable tv is connected...

Pros: Lots of inputs. Standard number of HDMI inputs is 2. This has 4. All capable of 1080p. Matte finish screen for easy viewing in most light. No annoying reflections. Great sound for 2x10watt speakers.
Cons: Dynamic contrast is buggy. I recomend turnning it off. The Active light control is a little weird. When the image goes dark, it counters it making it brighter, which distorts the reason ...

AIT Delivery Stinks

This is NOT the 120Hz version!

Pros: First, please note that I am commenting on the 120Hz version of this television. I highly recommend it. The Philips is the most aesthetically pleasing of all television choices. The refresh rate is JUST now being matched by Sony. The quality of the image is exceptional and even beats the Sony in a side-by-side comparison of the same HD content.
Cons: There is a LONG list of problems. NONE...

The only one that fit on our mantel with the stand - excellent!
I picked this one because the specs are excellent for the low price range and it has 4 HDMI inputs with plenty of other kinds too. The spec that sold it was the depth on stand. It fits nicely on our 11" mantel and allowed us to put off mounting it. The picture is better than I expected for SD from a sat. box. Off the air HD is awesome with regular rabbit ears and I never imagined the local PBS stations would each have 3 or 4 different channels. Incredible! Watched penguins diving in the Antactic...

Pros: Awesome picture quality. Great contrast. Looks amazing in 1080p. Both my 360 and my PC look great on it. Sound is very good for built in speakers. Lots of inputs.
Cons: Very faint humm of the TV's power supply. You have to aim the remote just right to get it to work. No VGA support. (DVI works with the right cable).

Pros: This tv has a great response time and it has an even better contrast ratio.
Cons: It doesn't have pip. I don't use it much any ways so no big deal.
Other Thoughts: Absolutely amazing tv and it makes a good pc monitor too. It handles fast moving video gams well. I could not find another tv out there where you got more for your money.
