Excellent value, even better viewing!
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) We've long used Samsung 21.3 monitors in our offices, with no complaints to date....but needed additional monitors for some new staff. Not ideal for professional use
Got this 24" monitor as an upgrade from a 22" Gateway, hence the comparison is based on the same video card and PC. The decision to buy the Samsung 245BW was made purely due to price (under 350 after rebate) - I suppose I got what I paid for.

This is the 24" you've been waiting for..
This is the first high quality 24" I have seen for under $500. Yes, this is one of the new 24" TN (twisted neumatic) panels, but don't let that dissuade you. The 22" TN panels have gotten a bad rap due to their poor performance, most of them have issues with bad color banding and lots of light bleeding at the edges. I should know as I have owned several 22" TN panels (mostly Viewsonic VX2235WM).

AWESOME MONITOR!
The monitor out of the box was too bright, and too washed out. I'm using this with a Mac Pro, but lowering the contrast/brightness and changing the color profile to Wide Gamut RGB made it a lot better. Then using the Spyder2 calibrater made it absolutely fantastic. The off axis viewing does shift a little bit, but nothing too big to cause annoyance and I'm very picky. Pros: I first have to say that I am very very very picky. However, TEXT is amazing. I am doing lots of internet surfing as well as programming and computer simulations. TEXT clarity has been always my issue. This is 9 points out of 10 in that. I used Sony 19'' LCD for 3 years which was worth more than 700 bucks, but it just had 8 points.
