Very Good KVM
Tech Level: somewhat high Ownership: more than 1 year Pros: We bought one of these to try out 1 1/2 years ago. Since then I have bought 7 more on all our 19"" racks. Have never had a problem with even one of them
Cons: They should provide the bank cable with the KVM. Not yet used that functionality.

It works, mostly.
Tech Level: high Ownership: 1 month to 1 year This user purchased this item from Newegg.com Pros: Mixed USB & PS/2 systems can be controlled simultaneously.
Reset button seems to work. ;)
Cons: The USB controller of one system I have does not ""play nice"" with the mouse; any movement on the mouse forces the cursor to the bottom right corner of the display. This can also be caused by moving the mouse while switching between syst...

Good, but has some issues with Linux
Tech Level: somewhat high Ownership: 1 day to 1 week This user purchased this item from Newegg.com Pros: Hot key sequence is short (ScrLk-ScrLk-up/down/NN); picture is clear with 24"" 1920x1200 monitor; fits 19"" rack; automatically skips inactive channels; works with AT keyboard adapter
Cons: I cannot use it with Linux in PS/2 mode, because it will lock up the keyboard and mouse even if gpm is disabled. It works with Linux in USB mod...

KVM Bliss
Tech Level: somewhat high Ownership: 1 week to 1 month Pros: This switch is very easy to use, easy to install and best of all easy to switch remotly. The last KVM I had I could not change the keyboard shortcuts on and had to use atl, shift, tab and then selct the computer; this one is just scroll twice and select a computer. It also has the osd of the channel you have selected, a nice feture just to double check that you are on the right computer.

Flash these if you haven't all ready
Tech Level: somewhat high Ownership: more than 1 year This user purchased this item from Newegg.com Pros: Cheap price on the Egg, USB inputs for basically any PC or server made since 2000. :D
Interconnect up to eight banks.
Cons: Flaky, unless you upgrade the firmware...read below.
No USB input for the console. Entirely stupid. Low impedance on interconnects unless you use Belkin's brand of cables. Again, entirely stupid (and a ...

odd combination
Tech Level: somewhat high Ownership: 1 month to 1 year This user purchased this item from Newegg.com Pros: Works very well, does what it is supposed to. Runs cool, low profile fits under monitor easily.
Cons: no USB for console connections! Freezes once in a while, loses mouse on system bootup now and then.
Other Thoughts: Although all the controlled ports have USB connections to the computers, there is no U...

I would not buy a Belkin product again.
The product is pricey to begin with, but I thought it would fit my needs so I purchased it anyway. What the documentation dose not tell you is that the Belkin cables are required because of there proprietary nature. After installing standard cables and learning the cables would not work, I ordered Belkin cables. The box showed up missing 2 of the 3 cables. Belkin accepted responsibility for the error, and promised to send new cables. Three weeks later, several long phone calls, and much frus...
