Affordable Laser Printer, Copier & Scanner
I was in the market for a personal copier to support my real estate business. The requirements? Have to be small enough for me to carry around, inexpensive cost-per-page and affordable. This product fits the bill and it even adds printing and scanning capability as a bonus!
The print quality is surprisingly crisp for both text and image, off-the-glass copy is excellent and the scanner performs very well.

Good Printer -- But Beware Paper Jams
I've had this printer for a couple of months. For the most part it has been a positive experience. Print quality is very good. Speed is excellent. The copier function works very well. (I have a different scanner so I don't use that function by itself.)
The major problem I've had (and it may be a fatal flaw) is that when paper gets jammed in the fuser area it can be very difficult to remove. Expect to burn your fingers, and perhaps need a screw driver or some other implement to pry out...

OK for the money.
This Samsung multi-func printer work OK and is a good value for the price, but it is rather flimsy in construction, and fails some expected functionality, e.g,., it won't take continuous manual feeds of paper; the manual feed is very picky, often feeding the page at an angle, tearing the edges; it won't scan directly to a different printer (like a color printer; at least I can't figure out how to do it). Although it handles legal size paper, the scanner only handles regular 8x11 size.

Do NOT buy; very bad quality, very expensive toner
Do NOT listen to the others; they are probably Samsung workers planting postive reviews. The truth is, this printer has very terrible print quality, and the worst thing is (which no one else mentions) replacement toner cartridges are very hard to find and extremely expensive. This is a scam since each cartridge prints far fewer sheets than any other laser printers or copiers. Do NOT buy this. Get a better brand like the American HP or Lexmark or Japanese Sharp or Okidata.

Low End Laser Multifunction Printer
Samsung SCX-4100 is a low end multifuntion laser printer. I'll go through the pros and cons first.
Pros:
- Price of SCX-4100 is quite attractive.

Hard to find toner
The print quality is not as good as I expect from a laser. I've been using inkjet until I decided to get laser for a lower per page cost.
It is very hard to find the toner for this. If you try the office supply stores, they do not carry it.
I read another review that said the print output could be improved by: "Setting the source to photo/text and increase the darkness makes better (but slower) copies". I will try this and let you know.

No More Inkjet!
Summary: If you're considering a low-cost laser printer for light to medium work, then look no further. A great alternative to troublesome inkjets.
I have owned many inkjet printers over the years, having moved up from dot matrix in the mid 90's. MAKES ME A SMART BUYER
Easy installation - three PCs each with Windows XP, I just finished the installation and printed test-print from all three computers and a couple pages of return address labels. Easy and smooth install except toner install was a little bit tricky. Printer was saying "[JAM] or [No Cartridge]" I succeeded after a couple more tries. I had to push down the handle of the cartridge a litle bit firmly after it was all the way in.
