Affordable & Nice
I purchased this receiver to power my 5.1 home theater about 1 month ago. It is a good component and produces great sound. There are a number of surround sound modes and it has some nice features. I wish the unit had more than 2 optical hookups...although this is sufficient. One drawback is that the users manual is poorly written and offers little real help.

Geek Friendly
Sounds good! Price was right, one item sale for $75 new from circuit city. Was difficult for me to set up, instruction booklet is 50 pages and you have to read them all, twice.
Remote is small, impossible to read the button labels, also the receiver florescent display subtitle dolby settings are too small to read from sitting positions.
But the receiver has plenty of power, and is easy to adjust speakers to different sitting locations. It runs cool to touch at half power which is as loud as ...

Wotks great but hard to sit up
I have had this for about 2 months now. The manual is about worthless for my simple mind. But when I called Sherwood, I got a great and helpful Tech. who talked me through the whole sit-up including the use of the set-up mic.
It now works great with my TV and sound system. Also gets pretty darn good FM radio reception. You do need a better antenna. For the price I think it is a good value and I would buy again.

Best unit for price
I have had no problems with this receiver. Though set-up and instructions can be a little confusing. All-in-all, there isn't anything on the market in the same price range with the full range of features this receiver has.
