Junk drive
Bought one of these external drives in November 2008, infrequently used it since then, and now it's July 2009 and the drive in not working. Plug the power connector into the rear of the drive, the little blue light comes on, then it immediately goes off with the computer unable to access the drive. This makes the second Western Digital drive in the last three years that has died on me, the other was a 500 gig internal drive, and I'm getting tired of the poor reliability.

Pros: I love this external. I have had it on for almost a week straight once and no problems.
Cons: It does get a little hot, but it's nothing major.
Other Thoughts: About out of space. If I get another eHD, it'll be this one again.

Pros: Small, nice looking, relatively quiet.
Cons: Purchased drive for backup of my main PC. Copied over the whole drive through Casper perfectly. Drive sat for a few weeks and upon plugging it back in my PC failed to recognize it...then it started the "click of death" and promptly failed completely...

Pros: Setup was simple, runs fast enough for backup purposes, good amount of space for price.

Other Thoughts: Larger than I thought but not really a con since it sits out of the way. I don't see it as a problem.
