Good drive
Tech Level: average Ownership: 1 month to 1 year Pros: Drive is used for storing recorded tv. It frequently has two HD shows, satellite, and cable TV being recorded to it at the same time. Drive performs flawlessly. It is very quiet.
Cons: Runs a little on the hot side, but I don't have the best hdd cooling options

No problems
I bought this to replace the hard drive that failed in my imac. What can I say: no problems setting up, more space, pretty cheap - basically no complaints!

Just the drive, ma'am...
As M. Mola points out, this is an OEM package. It not only has no instructions or software, it also does not have a connector cable, an IDE four-pin to SATA power adapter, or mounting screws.
If you want to replace a failed drive and don't want the clutter that usually comes with a drive, this is for you.
If you want to add an additional drive to an existing system, you'll need to get the cabling and mounting hardware elsewhere.

Western Dig it all
Tech Level: high Ownership: 1 week to 1 month This user purchased this item from Newegg Pros: Didn't arrive DOA (like my last drive did). Runs relatively cool. Once spun up it is very quiet (nearly inaudible) both idling a seeking.
Cons: None really. Has the typical WD fairly loud WOOOOOooooooooo when spinning up, but I'm grabbing at straws to find faults.
Other Thoughts: Been a few y...

Great drive
Tech Level: high Ownership: less than 1 day This user purchased this item from Newegg Pros: This is a very quiet, cool drive. Both of those aren't features I normally look for in a drive, but this drive also scored the highest speed on Tom's Hardware's latest test. It is speedy.
Cons: Only a 3 year warranty when Seagate offers 5.
Other Thoughts: This is a great drive at a great price.

Tech Level: high Ownership: 1 day to 1 week This user purchased this item from Newegg Pros: - Latest 160 GB/platter technology - Only 3 platters - Quiet seek - Low power dissipation - Transfer speeds on Raptor level - Cheap
Cons: - Adaptive formatting (expected in 160GB/p though)
Other Thoughts: Note that this drive is different from 4-platter WD5000KS. AA stands for 160GB/p t...

Awesome Drive
Tech Level: high Ownership: 1 week to 1 month Pros: Low price for huge space. VERY quiet and VERY cool(I built my system geared towards low sound and low heat because my parents complain a lot). This is much cooler than the previous 3 platter version, the 5000KS. I have 2 5000KS' and their temps are at 30 degrees Celsius whereas this one, the 5000AAKS is at 24 degrees Celsius.
Cons: None.
Other Thoughts:...

Nice Drives
Tech Level: average Ownership: 1 week to 1 month This user purchased this item from Newegg Pros: They run fast, high capacity and are pretty quiet.
Cons: A tad bit louder than the RE2 version.
Other Thoughts: I have recently tried the 150 Raptors in Raid 0 and have found they are too loud for me. I decided to go non-raid, opting for quieter drives with more capacity. While I understand I’m taking a perfor...

WD = Great
Tech Level: high Ownership: 1 month to 1 year Pros: Western Digital imho is one of the most reliable drives, of course now and then you're going to get a bad one or one that fails after a short period, but that can happen with any product, no need to hate a brand because 1 drive fails.
Cons: None that I can think of.
Other Thoughts: This is an OEM product, that means no cables (those come w/ your motherb...

COMPATIBILITY ISSUES! Readme
Tech Level: high Ownership: 1 week to 1 month This user purchased this item from Newegg Pros: Works perfectly if you have the right system. This is my 2nd review of this drive. The 1st review said 1 of 2 I bought was DOA. It wasn't!
Cons: ISSUE 1: The AAKS drive is SATA II 3.0 gb/s. It autonegotiates to 1.5 if your system is SATA I. WD site says this FAILS on some VIA and SIS chipset MBs. That's why I thought I had...
