Pros: These drives are fast, inexpensive, and have a small size and sturdy feel. The ability to daisy-chain with firewire is a must for me. Compatible with OS X, Windows, and Ubuntu.
Cons: Fantom isn't one of the big name hard drive makers. Not sure if that's much of a con though as they seem to be getting bigger.

Pros: Takes all of about 3 minutes to set up, very small footprint. Came formatted as FAT32 but was quickly fixed to NTFS. Love the firewire capability, got 6 drives and a capture device daisy chained together. Super bright LED is very useful to read by at night. Great price as well.

Pros: Sturdy aluminum case, Reliable, Fast, Firewire (and USB).
Cons: Not really a con, but the drive appears to spin down after a period of inactivity. You have to wait until it spins back up before using again. This is a good thing, I suppose. No need for it to spin when not being used.

Nice external drive
I bought one of these in September 2007 and partitioned it to create a separate drive the same size as my Apple notebook hard drive and replicated the notebook drive using Carbon Copy while using the larger partition as drive space for downloaded movies.
Using firewire, I boot off of this replica external drive, which is faster than my internal laptop drive, and use the laptop drive as the back-up drive.

Pros: Easy to set up and only took a minute to format to HFS+. Decent firewire transfer speeds. Works great with Time Machine. Not loud. Great price for the value.

Looks Good!
So far. Nice styling sitting next to a MacBook Pro. Doing Firewire transfers of video for archival without any problems. Actually liked the fanless design for quietness.

Pros: This was my second Fantom Drive Purchase so i was pretty confident in it. The drive worked great through usb 2.0 right out the box. I store music on it and use it every night as a night club dj. The bright led light helps me recognize when the drive is "working" clearly.
