7.0 Upgrade flawed
Let me say at the outset that I use Adobe Photoshop Elements as my main photo editor. It is the best low cost tool available for cleaning up photos, stitching together multiple scans of a large original, repairing damaged shots and so on. I am doing family history, with over 9,000 shots and scans so far. Some of the scans are of negatives from the 1800's and need a lot of work, which is easy and fast in Photoshop. So don't take this mostly negative review as a reason not to buy Photoshop at all ...

Bloated software that crashes often
I have a relatively quick PC (Quad-Core, 4GB RAM, 1GB Video, etc..) and this software not only takes forever to load, navigation within the application is choppy and SLOW. Granted, I have a lot of files, but other organization apps work fine. It crashed twice while cataloging my library.
I was also not very pleased that the software installs two services that run on your PC all the time. This software (and any others that install resident apps) should be forced to put a big warning la...

Nice Combination
Tech Level: somewhat high Ownership: 1 month to 1 year This user purchased this item from Newegg Pros: This makes a very nice combination for an affordable price (if you can actually get the rebate). I've purchased several of the full blown Photoshop version, but they are overkill for my needs. The organizer function is vastly improved over the last version of PE I purchased years ago. Premiere is a nice movie creation program as well now that it...

Review of Photoshop Elements 7
I bought this product primarily for my wife as I already use the full Photoshop (CS3) product. But using it with her to help her get started, I find it is all most photographers will need to do the processing of their digital images. It's got most of the Photographic features one uses in processing digital photo files as opposed to CS. The features not included can be done a different way in Elements 7 and actually the approach used with some features is better understood in Elements!

70% favorable rating from Amazon reviewers
As of this writing, 70% of the Amazon reviewers gave this product a "favorable" rating (4 and 5 star ratings combined for favorable). 22% were unfavorable (1 and 2 stars combined). Overall, if any software can get a 70% or better rating it's pretty good.
I use Elements 7, CS3, Photomatix, Lightroom, and Nikon Capture NX2. Each of these programs performs very well, depending on what you want to do and (and this is a big "and") you are willing to spend the time learning them. You ...

Not Worth Upgrade & Crummy Support
After using various Photoshop versions for more than 12 years, I am absolutely disappointed in Photoshop Elements 7. The version I used before 7 was Elements 4 and I'd have been far better to just stay with that. Other than photoshop.com, which is not so great at all, I've not been able to find any worthwhile improvement. Instead I've found nothing buy glitches with no user-friendly support available.
I have spent far more time trying to figure out why the Organizer keeps crashing tha...

Two for one
Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?) I have the Adobe Photoshop Elements & Premiere Elements 7 duo installed on my VISTA powered laptop and have worked with them several days. I started using Adobe Photoshop Elements version 3 a number of years ago and thought it was good, but somewhat complicated to use with a long learning curve involved. The new Elements version 7 retains most of the original features and complexity but is upgraded and the t...

A Version to Avoid
The primary reason for this release is Adobe launching its new Photoshop website, which is Adobe's attempt to compete with social networking and video/image sharing sites like MySpace, YouTube, and Photobucket. Photoshop Elements 7 allows you to directly share/backup your images on that site.. or, at least, you're supposed to be able to. Every time I uploaded my photos, I got a message that the images were damaged/corrupted and could not be displayed. Fixes for this problem will probably be adde...

Rushed to market
Pros: Nice amount of features, pretty interface, simple once you get used to it
Cons: Crashes constantly on Vista, Some features require you to "upgrade" to a Photoshop.com account (like menu themes!), some features work sometimes and sometimes don't (like effects on text, it will allow you to add them to some but not others with no explanation!), resource hog (on a 3ghz Core2Duo w/ 4 gigs RAM)
Bottom Line: Avoid, version 6 was more stable and more complete in my opinion. ...

Such a sad disappointment
I have been a Photoshop Elements user for 5 years. The first version I used was Photoshop Elements 3, which was a dream. The software did everything I wanted and was great. When we upgraded our computer, it came with Windows Vista, which was not compatible with Photoshop Elements 3. We purchased Photoshop Elements 6 and found that it was buggy. Most importantly, it did not print 4x6 photos correctly after the photo has been edited.
I read that Photoshop Elements 7 was due out in ...
