Cons: The PCTV-1600 only displays video in NTSC (480i) or PAL, type of connection to the TV doesn't matter.

Pros: There are none.
Cons: Bad picture quality, distorted and unreadable text at any resolution. I would not consider purchasing this item or any of its competitors'. I'm going to waste my money on an rma return.

Cons: Shew where to begin... HORRIBLE owners manual, web site has no info either... You must have video resolution on your PC turned to 600x800 before the TV unblurrs enough for you to even read any words. No adjustabilty and what you can adjust has poor limits...

decent video for 70 bucks
I bought this converter for an old pc with vga out to a new hdtv. Works good, many finite adjustments, although none are perfect. YOU WILL NOT GET NEAR HDTV QUALITY WITH THIS UNIT. It uses composite outputs. Beats s-video. I am using on a new sony 50" lcd projection. don't waste your time on this converter
I have IBM ThinkPad laptop T40 which I wanted to use together w/ the converter. For me this combination did not work - the converter did not transfer picture to TV in 90% of cases when I restarted my laptop. Even when it worked, I was not able to resize picture on TV.
I returned it.
