great for bread and everything
Background: I bought this Cuisinart after reading all the positive reviews on this site. I bought it mainly for making bread because my mother raves about making bread with hers. I already had a small food processor for chopping, so I wasn't too concerned about that.

Cusinart, good quality
This is my second DLC-10. The only reason for replacement is because the bowl cracked and it became cost effective to just make a machine rerplacement. I have all the disks and such and like the machine very much as I have had it for 20 years.

great machine.
This is a great machine, it is my first food processor and I could not ask for a better performance. I have used it all day today for the first time and was able to slice tomatoes, for a salad, make a wonderful salad dressing, slice eggplant for mousaka, slice potatoes for spanish tortilla and more. Great foodprocessor
The processor works terrific! It saves us much time everyday.
One minor problem is some foods get stuck between the cover and the blade and can not be processed.

Cuisinart is going straight down hill.
The machine works OK. But not great for a $150 investment.
My mother had a cuisinart from 1970something. It was a work horse. You would put anything in there, and suddenly, it'd be ground to a fine powder in no time flat. Coconut (dry or fresh), nuts, seeds, whatever. Pulse once or twice, and get perfect minced onion, garlic, or ginger.

Quiet, efficient, if a little small
While I didn't try using this in my lap or mistake it for a saucepan (see 1-star reviews), I have used the DLC-10S for a variety of kitchen tasks and it's performed very well. I was astounded at how quiet it is, especially compared to my old Black & Decker food processor.
I'm happy to have the two different lids. I rarely use the feed chute so it's handy to have the low-profile lid, yet I'm happy to have the other when it's needed.

Probably the Best Food Processor for the Price, Reliable
Before I comment on other features of the food processor, I should mention that I bought this DLC-10S used/second-hand. By manufacture date, it is 13 years old and still works as good as when it first came off the presses. I have no doubt that it will last another 13 years - Cuisinart just makes good food processors - period. The DLC-10S, from what I understand, was introduced around 1992, and Cuisinart still makes it in 2009, which says something. I would never recommend another brand based on ...

Wonderful processor
We've never had a food processor before, but I bought my wife an inexpensive food processor for Christmas because there were a few occasions where I thought one would be helpful such as mass chopping duties for salsa. Great Food Processor
I cook for two people and this food processor is just the right size for that. I use it to slice, shredd, mix, chop, make dough (around 2 cups) and it works just fine. For dough, add water slowly and don't add more than two and half cups of flour at a time.
