1. Great image quality better that most other Subcompacts.br2. Easy for beginners but has more advanced features for the experienced photographer.br3. Great battery life. Better that other cameras that I have used in the past. I have an extra battery but have not had a occation to use it . This is even when shooting a lot of flash pictures.br4. With 13.6 MP image the quality is good even wiht tight cropping. Offsets need for higher optical zoom camera.br5. I use the camera a lot because...

fun camera

smile shutter is fun to play with. sturdy and easy to use. picture quality is super sharp. while it does not have high zoom capabilities on the camera once you upload the picture onto a comupter you can zoom in and read text in the background. fast startup and picture taking. fits into jeans pocket and takes great low light level pics.. Sometimes pictues can look distorted if you use automatic settings especially if you use the smile shutter. pick one up if you can.

Great pictures

For the price you cant beat the quality. The size is small and its simple to figure out. Easy to charge the battery you just plug it in the wall. Also It works great with the scan disc memory card 4GB.....plenty of space!

excels at exposure control

Of all digicams I have used, including Canon DSLRs, this little Sony did the best job at retaining highlights at standard auto-exposure settings in contrasty sunlight shooting situations. I don't agree with others' comments that the lens is "poor." The lens at mid-zoom and telephoto is fine. At wide-angle, though, the edges are noticeably soft; the center is okay. 13.6 megapixel is really overkill in this kind of camera. You can use the 8 mpixel resolution setting, have plenty of resolution for ...

Good little camera

It's a good little pocket camera and meets my needs for an easy-to-carry camera with lots of features. I mainly bought it based on reviews from Amazon and have been satisfied so far. However, the usual description of "What's in the Box" was not there, so I unnecessarily ordered a charger for $44 just to be sure. There is one included with the camera. Maybe I can use the extra one when I leave the first one in a motel room somewhere.

great camera

I had looked at many cameras before setting my sites on this one I find it does every thing my Nikon D80 does without the weight and size. Cost is a bit stiff but bought it on sale for 20 dollars less not much of a savings considering the start price. As someone mentioned before you get what you pay for most times. I do like the fact that the camera has 30 frames refresh rate with sound. One limit to the camera it seems no matter what size video card you have you are limited to 10 minutes of vi...

Sony Cybershot 13.6 Megapixels Won't Disappoint You

I bought the new Sony Cybershot for my husband for Christmas 2008. He had the older model of the same camera, but had many complaints. Fortunately, it seems Sony has listened to what consumers disliked about its previous versions and has corrected everything about it. (Given we've only had the camera a few weeks, but so far so good.)

Here are THREE major aspects we disliked about the OLD Cybershot and how they have been corrected (at least to our knowledge):

1.) OLD - The...

great camera

After a week of owning this camera, I have been very impressed. The in-camera editing modes are actually really cool. Not sure that I needed 13.6 mp, but bragging rights are always cool. Screen has been very impressive, though I hate the half-second loading/refining delay when browsing through your photos --common to all cybershots-- though it's much improved over my old k790 cybershot. battery life has been fine. smile shutter is a lot of fun, but embarassing when it can't detect smiles (d...

great looking, nice pictures

This is one sweet looking camera. The design is excellent. The built quality is very high. I have only taken a few shots with it so far, but they look very good, colorful and sharp. Image size is about 5MB at full resolution, so you get about 800 images on a 4GB card. I am using the Sandisk Ultra II 15MB/s card which works great. Recommended.

Updates:
1) the colors on the auto settings are not as vivid, but you can control that in the P mode - I set it to "Vivid" which works wel...
