Excellent features, price and quality photographs!
I recently purchase the Nikon Coolpix L20 after lots of shopping.
I have used only Olympus cameras only up to now.
This time I wanted a smaller pocket sized camera, that still took the AA batteries, and that still gave great photos with all the features I was used to.
This camera fit the bill!

This is a professional camera capable of crystal clear prints worthy of publication or gallery display, up to 16x20.
And it is incredibly inexpensive for a camera of such value.

Decent Starter Camera
I bought this camera for my wife when her Olympus Stylus 300 had run it's life expectancy. May it rest in peace. The Nikon Coolpix is relatively easy to use.. has lots of decent features and the price was killer, but.. picture quality isn't as good as her late Olympus or the Canon Sureshot we also use. Just what I wanted
I researched alot of cameras to get just what I wanted. This is definitely it. The price was great. I got everything I wanted on it(smile,red eye,motion stabilizer etc.)We took pictures of fireworks and a video of them and it turned out fantastic! It is very easy to use. Make sure you get a card,as the camera itself only holds 10 pictures. I would recommend this camera to everyone.

Nice little camera
One step up from the Nikon L19. This camera sports a few nice features like macro mode, a 3.6X zoom and has a nice big display. Works GREAT with my SANDISK 4 Gig SDHC card. Nikon has been in business since 1917 and has given the photography world unparallelled quality and performance so I had no problems making this purchase and I'm glad I did!

I did not do enough research on this item. I have a Canon A75 that I want to give to my daughter. I have a Nikon D60 DSLR as my primary camera, and I want an additional all-the-time camera. My criteria are simple. Quite disappointed
Improvement is definitely needed on this camera. I was surprised to find so many problems in so little time:
1. Video recording may freeze. I had to take the batteries out and put back in to shut it down.
2. PC software doesn't download some files, and just stuck there.
3. Because of 2 above, I found this: No automatic shutdown. It drained out the two AA batteries as I left it to continue downloading to my PC.
4. Doesn't always respond to the shutter press. This is ...

Was expecting more.. maybe I had to spend more...
I bought this camera due to its 10 MP and since it was new (FEb 2009) But I think I got what I paid for, nice simple camera with some features but not all the hoopla I expected. Display is nice, my wife loved the color, but I think I got shorthanded with the quality of the pictures.
Bought a transcend 8 GB card and it works fine (up to now)...

NOT good images!!
This camera is great for someone that doesn't have a need/desire for accurate color representation or nice range of values interior or exterior.
The inside shots are grainy, 'noisy' and dull. The outdoor shots are over saturated (greens are horribly distorted, turn out charteus or neon - see 'customer images'. I've added 2 examples), but the parts of images in shadows are under saturated and dull.
