NOT a multi-region DVD player
 
We've just returned to the US after living overseas and bought this DVD player in order to play the DVD's we acquired in Europe. Tried unsuccessfully to set it up to play non-US DVD's. When I called Philips, I was told that they do not make or sell multi-region or code-free DVD players and this one will NOT WORK AS MARKETED. DO NOT BUY THIS IF YOU EXPECT TO PLAY DVD'S FIRST PLAYED IN OTHER REGIONS.

Works great. However when it goes standby, and the play button is pushed the video/audio cables need to be installed again.
