Don't forget the ground wire
When I first hooked up the preamp I experienced an electronic hum. Annoying at low volume. The it dawned on me my old turntable had a ground wire. Loosened a screw on my receiver case and attached. Hum gone! Sounds good to my ears.

What more could you ask for?
I've been attempting to move my LP collection to my computer for some time now. I've tried numerious pieces of hardware and software but never got the results I was looking for. I finally decided to scrap everything and go with an inexpensive preamp. I was totally unprepared for the I got. My very first recording was better than anything I had previously recorded. I was so happy after my third attempt that I spent the next several hours recording LP's I hadn't heard in years. Forget the fa...

Good basic pre-amp
For the price (note: the shipping price was very high), this pre-amp is quite good. It did what it was designed to do and allowed me to plug my turntable into my PC. However, it didn't provide the same boost quality as I've experienced with higher quality amps. (To be fair, I should note that my cables between the turntable and PC aren't the highest quality, which diminishes the results to some degree.) If you're looking for basic, this is a good deal, but if you want control, get better pre-amp...

Right Price and it works
I bought the preamp to connect my phono turntable to the line in jack on my computer. By adding an RCA to Mini adapter and cable the preamp allowed me to transfer my records to .wav files on my computer. The signal directly from the turntable was to low but adding the preamp gave me plenty of amplitude.

i won't be cheap next time
I've bought two pieces of this product for my friend and I, hoping we could revive our old albums. We both tried to connect this pre-amp (cheap, no manual) to the 21st century amps - but nothing worked. Connecting the turntable straight to the amp gave a better result (which was quite bad). I wouldn't recommend it all.

Works well
I was looking for a small pre-amp to rip my LPs into iTunes. I didn't want to haul my amplifier into the office, so hoped this would work fine. It does. Sufficient amplification and the music sounds fine (imported via Griffin iMic using Toast and CD Spin Doctor 2). Now, CD Spin Doctor crashes a lot when editing the tracks, but that's a different story...

Great for connecting turntable to PC.
This works great for ripping vinyl to mp3 (with the addition of a cheap "Y" plug cable). Just make sure you connect the ground cable from the turntable to the metal back on your computer. That will the eliminate humming problem.

BOTH CHANNELS WORK IF I "WHACK" IT REAL HARD!
I Just needed something that would bring my turntable up to line level to input into my sound card. I wasn't too concerned about the quality of the sound. Previously I had used VESTAX portable, which sounded fine, but could only handle relatively flat records. Figured the PYLE PP-99 PRE-AMP had to be at least as good, right? WRONG! After I hooked it up, I was only getting one channel. Checked all the connections and contacts again: one channel. Slapped the unit hard against my thigh: lo and beh...

This Pyle pre-amp gets the job done!
My turntable had a magnetic needle cartridge and I couldn't get any volume for recordings out of it when hooked to my PC. So I bought this Pyle pre-amp. Hooking it up is a breeze and it amplifies the signal perfectly so I now get excellent recordings. I've already copied over 60 of my LP's with this super device. I highly recommend this Pyle pre-amp. Good price, strong, well designed metal case, made to last.

Does the trick
I got this a couple months ago when I got a new home theater without a Phono input. This thing works fine. I considered higher priced pre-amps, but am glad I just picked this one up on the cheap. No hum, no worries, no complaints.
