A VERY GOOD PHONE FOR THE MONEY.
I REALLY DON'T THINK YOU CAN GET A BETTER PHONE FOR THE MONEY THAN THIS ONE. I BOUGHT IT ABOUT A MONTH AGO AND IT HAS WORKED JUST FINE SO FAR. IT IS EVEN BETTER THAN OUR PREVIOUS PHONE WHICH WAS MORE EXPENSIVE BUT NOT NEARLY AS NICE AND WAS BIGGER AND BULKIER. I LIKE THAT WHEN THIS PHONE IS ON THE CRADLE CHARGING IT STANDS UP AND FACES *OUTWARD* SO THAT YOU CAN SEE WHO'S CALLING WITHOUT EVEN REACHING FOR THE PHONE. Failing Batteries in 90 days
After just 3 months this phone's batteries are already failing! This is now the second cordless in a row I've bought with short-lived batteries. The other was a Panasonic that cost around $20.
Even with it's low $14.99 price tag, the GE Cordless 2.4 GHz 27831FE1 Phone has proven to be a bad bargain. We could get a new set of batteries with GE's one year warranty, but this phone may not be worth keeping.
Its low-contrast, badly lit LCD is so hard to read, it's sometimes alm...

It works better than great!

Pros: Yeah I bought it. I have a big home and my old phones died and my ex wife skipped out on a bunch of her bills (loser) and I got tired of running around the house to answer the phone to talk to her bill collectors who cant find her.
Cons: It didnt stop the collectors from calling me, or my ex from calling me for that matter

it is cheap and performs like a cheap phone. battery is dead after about a year. the volume is low. the screen started to fail. the coverage is average at best. you can do better for a few bucks more

GREAT CORDLESS PHONE, BUT...................
This phone works great, especially for its low cost. My only complaint would be that the screen is hard to read. The screen is yellow-green and the letters are too light and small to be easily read unless you are a young whipper-snapper (never did know exactly what that means, but that's what Dad called the "youngins").

Good value
Purchased this phone because neighbor and I both have same 5.8GHz phone which causes interference and unexpected hang ups. Use of 2.4GHz phone eliminated problem. Good value for lower frequency phone which has same range and clarity as higher frequency models. Unit very easy to set up using manufacturers simple to follow instructions.

Phone worked ok for 1 month, although lacks speakerphone and sound was not great. Then it died, unable to charge properly.
