Solid , dependable, perfect size
I purchased this product as well as several other Cuisinart cookware products to replace nonstick T-Fal cookware. The stainless steel mirror finish is beautiful and the pan just feels solid. I sauteed some fish and true to the description very little heat was necessary to heat the pan. I found this out after applying a little too much heat and crusting on some burnt cheese. Cleanup was a breeze with just soap, water, and a dishcloth. The handles are securely fastened and I expect them to last fo...

If you only have one pan...
Wow- this pan is a winner. I consider it a bargain at full price as its size, shape and sheer quality make it indispensable in your kitchen. Owing to the aluminum core, the stainless steel heats up quickly and can really hold it's heat- this allows you to nicely sear your meats/fish. As it's all metal, it can go in the oven without problem (you can sear on the stovetop and finish roasting in the oven) and because it has deep sides, you can finish a sauce right in the pan. It's a great size fo...

Beautiful pan!
I'm tired of those non-stick pans that eventually lose their coating and thought that I'll try stainless steel pan for almost everything but frying an egg. Boy did I pick the right pan to start with! This pan, besides being beautifully made, is the perfect size for almost everything I cook. It's very heavy, but the helper handle helps. It conducts heat very well, so I no longer use the high setting on my gas stove or the food would burn. Despite being made in China, the quality is excellent...

very good
very good pan. Feels very solid in hand. The pan heats very fast. I used to wait a minute or two for my old non-sticky pan to heat, but this one will be ready in 10 seconds.
the size is good for making a dish for one or two persons. when making more need to be careful about overflow.
haven't tried it in oven yet, but seems not likely to be a problem.
becareful to put in a decent amount of oil when cooking meat, and move the meat frequenctly. otherwise it'll stick...

Was a good deal until Amazon got greedy ;)
This pan was fantastic for the price a few months ago. Now it is significantly more money (from 29.99 to almost 55 dollars!). Before getting any of the Cuisinart line of pots on Amazon was a no-brainer due to their low cost. Now I would suggest doing some serious research, online and elsewhere, because a better deal for an equivalent pot may be out there.

Easier to use than its big brother, the 5 1/2-Qt.
When I compare this with my 3-Qt. Anolon Advanced, I can immediately see the advantages to the Cuisinart design. Notable is the 'helper handle'. The Anolon Advanced is built more along the lines of the All-Clad and Calphalon Tri-Ply lines and is certainly more expensive. Both will serve important roles in my kitchen.
One further kudo...Amazon did pack this in a padded shipping box so there were no dents as happened with the 5 1/2 Qt. Monster pan.

Must be handwashed. :-(
I bought a few of these cuisinart pieces, and what I have learned is that it must be handwashed. The rims on the pots, and the lid covers are too sharp. It cut the coating on my new dishwasher. Just horrible!!! I hate handwashing!!!

value plus
I tested this pan as soon as it arrived with two sauted chicken breasts in olive oil. The pan heated evenly, chicken cooked and carmalized beautifully, without scorching. The pan juices were outstanding for (my) Chiarello roasted lemon-rosemary sauce without scorching the pan. Exactly what you need without spending +$200.

Great Little Pan
We've had this about three months now and use it all the time. The nice, thick bottom helps to distribute heat evenly. It's easy to clean, as there's no place for food to get stuck where you can't get at it. Over all, its nice, solid construction suggests that it's built to last a lifetime. We usually just pick up pans and things like this at second-hand stores because we're cheap, but this is one of those items I'd buy brand new again if the price was right (we got it for ten bucks - a pheno...

A must for epicures with tiny kitchens
This pan is a godsend for me, in my small kitchen. Not only is it lovely to look at, well constructed and a breeze to clean up, it's the perfect size and depth for just about everything. I even cook my risotto in this pan.
