Try to find a corded phone is difficult these days. I actually found the Plantronics / Walker W1000 phone at WalMart in Rice Lake, WI (715-234-6990) for $34.88. Brought it home, plugged it in and tried it out. Seems to work great. This version of the product is documented as offering up to 26dB amplification. Elsewhere on amazon i found the W1000 with 33dB amplification, so perhaps I purchased a 'remaindered' version. I could not find the W1000 on the WalMart website.

A little bit louder now
I purchased the Clarity w1000 to overcome the noise from a room air conditioner. It usually worked adequately for this task. However, sometimes or perhaps often a little more volume would have been useful. On my phone line, increased volume quickly turns into quite a bit of noise and hiss. This is more annoying than straining to hear the caller. My Panasonic KX-TG 5421 cordless phone with voice enhancer turns out to work better than the w1000. I probably should have returned the w1000.

Works GREAT!
This phone is everything that I wanted and needed. The amplification feature works very well and the sound quality is excellent. I would buy this product again.

Great Buy
Purchased this phone for my 98 year old mother in law who lives in an assisted living facility and has a hearing problem. She can now hear our phone conversations perfect. No longer have to yell and scream. The telephone looks great too, adds a lot to her room.

Did not work
I bought this phone as a gift for my mother who has poor eyesight. The numbers are big. However, the phone did not work. I was able to get a dial tone, but after several attempts including taking the unit to a different house to plug into a different jack, all we were able to get was a dial tone. We were unable to dial out. The phone needs to be returned.

Clarity Phone
I bought this phone for my 72 year old mother. She has hearing aids in both ears. The "boost" feature works great! I lost my hearing due to a motorcycle accident and am considering buying one for myself.
It has really good sound quality. Its a great bargain for the buck, in my opinion.
