Reliable memory, great vendor, poor packaging
Product: Corsair Value Select 2GB PC2-5300 667 MHz 200-Pin DDR2 CL5 SODIMM Notebook Memory
Computer used: Dell Mini 9 (Inspiron 910) with Windows XP ULCPC Home SP-3
The Mini 9 came from Dell with a mere 512MB, which bogged down the already slow computer with the pre-loaded Dell bloatware. I wanted to max out the memory as early as possible and Dell charged an outrageous price to upgrade to 1 GB from the factory. For the same price, I could buy a 2GB stick and max out the la...

Corsair Value Select failed!- Better...!
Tech Level: high Ownership: 1 week to 1 month This user purchased this item from Newegg Pros: I can't think of any Pro's for Corsair! I recommend that you GET CRUCIAL!
I bought a new DELL D830 laptop, and wanted to max out on memory (4gig). I ordered it with 512mb, as DELL's memory upgrade prices are VERY HIGH! Using the Newegg memory configurator- The only memory listed was Corsair Value Select? I have always b...

Bad company to buy from.
I ordered this product but the company canceled the order saying it was out of stock. When I placed the order, Amazon reported it as "In Stock" and they still do as of this review. I wouldn't recommend ordering from this ANTOnline. They're not reliable.

It does what it says.
Tech Level: average Ownership: less than 1 day This user purchased this item from Newegg Pros: It's two gigabytes that installs into my netbook without any trouble at all. If you're running Windows, 2gb of memory is the sweet spot for quick boots. Great brand with a great reputation for a great price.. that's Newegg all over.
Cons: Nobody came to my UNICODE-themed party. :-(

Upgraded 20" iMac from 1GB to 3GB
Tech Level: high Ownership: 1 day to 1 week This user purchased this item from Newegg Pros: Simple install and worked the first time. My 20" dual-core iMac running Leopard came with the factory 1GB and had an available upgrade memory slot. Added this 2GB SO-DIMM into the extra slot and the system discovered and used it flawlessly. Now I can dedicate 1GB RAM to the VMWare Fusion instance running Windows and still have 2GB left for Mac stuff.

Good, but 4 GB not recognized by current Intel mobile chipsets
Tech Level: high Ownership: 1 day to 1 week This user purchased this item from Newegg Pros: 2 x 2GB sticks booted right up in Dell D520 laptop, at least as fast as 2GB Dell RAM if not faster.
Cons: Dell D520 BIOS didn't recognize full 4GB- upgraded to latest BIOS, still only recognized 3.3 GB in BIOS (not an O/S issue; laptop is set up in dual boot config into Linux). Extensive research on web discovered there is ...

Tech Level: high Ownership: 1 month to 1 year This user purchased this item from Newegg Pros: The price is lower than anywhere else I looked. The memory works, and the performance is great for the value. I have seen the same memory at retail stores for $30 more.
Cons: None thus far...
Other Thoughts: For anyone looking at the 1 egg reviews and contemplating whether to buy or not, I recommend you buy it. ...

Great Product, but brings bad luck.
Pops right in, and works right away. Of course my computer crashed twice before it would work correctly again, but didn't have anymore problems after that.
The real downside is that Corsair has deviously vested this product with loads of bad luck. I didn't even know we had the technology to do that! It's really pretty impressive if you sit back and think about it.
But then again, why didn't they just put good luck in instead of bad luck? It's gotta be a pretty simila...
