normal for a gold filter
The previous reviewer is correct about the "sediment" from the filter. Typically gold filters allow the oils and other properties of the ground bean to pass though, instead of being stuck in the paper filter. This gives a darker richer coffee. It also means you have a small "shot" of more dense coffee at the end of your cup. You can either drink it or not, some people really like the taste of the gold filter, others are used to the paper and don't like it at all. I guess it's just a matter ...

Too much sediment
I was hoping to avoid wasting paper and be environmentally conscious with a reusable filter. I don't care for the grounds sediment that escapes the filter. I'm back to using paper.

Perfect Fit
We found that the paper filters just wouldn't stay upright overnight in the basket, resulting in unattended surprise overflows and a great deal of "sediment" in the coffee and everywhere else. This filter is made for this model and fits like a glove, have yet to see one ground in my cups and the rest of the household has yet to declare any. As for taste, we haven't noted any true appreciable difference, even using high grades of coffee which are distinctive, nor in the occasional purchase of mor...

Tough to clean and not heart healthy
I have been using this (don't tell ;), but it is a pain to clean. You end up putting a lot of grounds down the drain. A bigger issue is that coffee has a lot of oils in it which are not good for you if you are a heart patient. The paper filter eliminates the majority of these fatty oils so it's one less source for you to be concerned with. (Learned this in cardio-rehab after my own heart attack). I will probably go back to using paper.

Gold Tone Filter=Economical but not neat
The gold tone filter works good, we don't see much in the way of little bits of grounds in the carafe at the end. It is also nice not to need to purchase filters or find a place to store them in the kitchen. However, the grounds do not come out of the filter easily. Whacking the filter on the edge of the trash can gets the bulk of them out, but then we still need to rinse a lot of them down the sink/garbage disposal.

Very Pleased with this Coffee Filter.
The filter is great and very easy to clean. It is much nicer than getting rid of a soggy, paper filter and it's environmentally friendly, too!
The only downside is that it does allow a small amount of grounds to get into the coffee. This doesn't bother me at all and I think the coffee tastes better than when I used paper filters.
I would definitely purchase this item again.

Coffee filter is junk
If you like coffee grounds in your coffee buy this filter. I personally don't like mud in the bottom of my cup.

No problems so far
Been using this filter for a while now (around 10 months I think) and really haven't had any problems at all. Makes a great cup of coffee. I am actual a bit of a coffee snob - but I don't really care to spend the time doing a french press every morning (and I like having a thermal carafe in my coffee maker that keeps it hot for 4+ hours on the weekends). Haven't had much trouble cleaning it but it does put more grounds down the drain than I would like because they kind of stick to the filter.

Cuisinart Coffee Filter
A filter that is reusable. Save money. Even though it is advertised that it may let coffee grinds through, I have not had that experience. Worth its money.
