Review
The atomic function makes this about as accurate as a watch can be. The other functions work okay. Solar energy is nice - never need to worry about a battery. World time is a waste. There are better stop watch functions out there if that is important to you - it is not to me. Coolest feature may be that it automatically illuminates at night when you turn your wrist to look at the time.
This is a HUGE watch. Sits high on the wrist - many long sleeve shirts will not button with th...

difficult to make out the time at night
Sync with the atomic clock is great as is the solar charged battery but #1 drawback of this watch is that it's difficult to read at night. The light comes from 9 & 3 o'clock, not a back light. The minute & hour hands are difficult to make out on the busy surface even on the longer light setting of 3 seconds while the small digital display window remains completely in the dark. Also this unfortunately has only one daily alarm.

Versatile Watch with Good Looks
Versatile Watch with Good Looks
The GShock GW1500A-1AV is a versatile watch with rugged good looks. I love the Digi/Analog feature combined with the solar power and atomic timekeeping. The one detractor would be the luminescence on the analog hands. They describe the LED light with after-glow (the hands), but without a stronger light there is little "glow" to the hands. Over all, a very good watch.

Surprise Surprise
I have been extremely pleased by this exceptional watch. It is far lighter and easier to use than I had expected. The only criticism I have is that the analog hands are approximately 1.5 to 2 minutes ahead of the accurate atomic time, which matches identically with my table mounted atomic clock. Cool!

Nice Watch
Pros: - solar power and Atomic time-keeping - tough and water proof to 200m - comfortable band
Cons: - Face a bit hard to read. could just be me. - I wish the watch had a count down timer, in addition to the stopwatch

Perfect
It was after Christmas time and I was willing to buy my first descent watch in years...to have a good new year start. I found this Casio the arms of the watch capture my eyes. There were many pretty G Shock but this one was the best one for me avaible at the store also the most expencive G Shock at that momment, but it shure worths every penny. The other thing I like about this watch is that it was Analogical, I prefer Analogical watches than Digital...I think they look better but hey it has bot...

perfect
Perfect: no setting the time, no changing the battery, mechanically tough, two wrist position sensitive blue LEDs, synchronized wirelessly with the NIST atomic clock, powered by any source of light, survives over three months of complete darkness, tracks time in other major cities, and some splashes of black and red.

G-Shock
I purchased my first G-Shock because I was impressed with the Casio Gz-One cell phones. I used to stay away from Casio until my employer issued me the military grade phone. I used to associate Casio with a cheaper grade of electronics. Not anymore. I am very impressed.
Excellent watch looks good, fairly easy to set and operate. Once you set it up, you should never have to set the time again. The face is a bit hard to read at times, especially in low light situations. The LEDs don't li...

Excellent watch, but...
In general this has been an excellent watch. I particularly like the atomic timekeeping feature, which even works to adjust for daylight savings time.
I have, however, experienced a couple of difficulties. The first is that the solar battery occasionally dies if you've been indoors for a period of days. This can be unnerving as the watch appears to have failed altogether, but putting the watch under a lamp or in the sunlight usually brings it back to life. Second, the hands are not al...

Is it just bad luck?
OK. I bought it two months ago. Now, something weird is going on. The watch is synchronized, the digital display shows the right home time while the analog gives something that doesn't make any sense, off by 5 hours and a couple minutes. Seems to me like an offset in the controller circuit, but I have failed every attempt to correct the hands... give up now
