Great Buy
Tech Level: somewhat high
Ownership: 1 month to 1 year
Pros: Great for family use, I use it all the time for youtube, has a good uploading software, I use sony vegas 9.0 for editing
Cons: does not pic up light very well, also does not has a good wide angle shot
Other Thoughts: getting a wide angle lens will make it a lot easier for those close up shots

Tech Level: somewhat high
Ownership: 1 month to 1 year
Pros: Cheap, LANC control available via adapter cable, capturing video into pc is super fast compared to other tech like minidv.

Cons: Image quality is total junk, color isn't that great, that is, compared to prosumer cams. Compared to other consumer cameras it hold's it's own, compared to prosumer cameras it's a kids toy as far as image...

This is a great video cam; with the built in 60GB hard drive there should always be plenty of space for new HD home movies. You can also use memory cards for even more space. Nice features like 60X zoom lens and touch screen controls make this handcam very handy indeed. However a fresh battery gives approx 100 mins of use so I had to get an extra one.
