does it actually do anything?
i purchased this thinking it was a good deal...WRONG! A big waste of money! It paired with my bluetooth phone..but then it didnt even do anything else saying it failed to detect bluetooth services...and it wouldn't even let me use widcomm drivers and forced me to use BlueSoleil, spend your money on another product

Installation of the software does not work atall and no support also
Waste of time and money... I have tried atleast 10 times trying to install the software from the CD that got shipped with the device.... no use. No support from the vendor...
In the forum... looks like many people are already having the problem.... and the vendor has not made any attempt to resolve the issue....
Strongly suggest to buy some other product...

This item would not pair whatsoever with my motorola razr v3c. The kinamax support was very unhelpful. They did not try to troubleshoot and told me it just wasn't compatible. This device uses bluesoleil software to link to bluetooth devices. There is limited documentation with this software and no support. I bought a dlink bluetooth adapter which uses widcomm drivers and it worked within minutes, so spend $10 more and get the dlink adapter and save yourself the trouble I went through.

Garbage-Waste of $14.99 + s/h
This device does not work. When I called to return this item for a refund, the company wants to charge me 15% because I do not have the original shipping packaging to return the defective adapter in on top of paying for return shipment charges. I was given an authorization code to return the item, however, upon further investigation found that Tiger Direct will not accept returns on this product. Gee! I wonder why? Quality Control and Customer Satisfaction at Tiger Direct is sorely lacking....

i brought this item last month. could not get it to pair/bond any of my bluetooth items and none of my bluetooth could pair/bond with it. i contacted kinamax tech by email reguesting a RMA number because tigerdirect.com would not except it back without one from the manufactor. kinamax sent me a link with the driver included telling me i needed that for it to work. i emailed them back that it came with one, i had installed it and it still did not work, please send the RMA so i could return it ...

A mid-level bluetooth adapter...

Pros: The Kinamax adapter works exactly as described. The software provided with the adapter immediately recognizes the adapter and provides a simple interface with which to access your bluetooth device (a phone, in my case) and to send/receive items.
In Linux (KDE 3.5, Debian 'testing', kernel 2.6.15), the adapter was immediately recognized by kbluetooth and I could use it with no further setup. Quite a nice surpr...

Pros: Amazingly, this product worked straight out of the box in Linux. Using kbluetooth, Linux automatically detected the adapter let connect to my bluetooth phone.
In Windows it took a bit of work (see below), but the program (BlueSoleil) works great.
Cons: The program (BlueSoleil) is a tad bit outdated. The provided version works fine, but I can't help but wonder what features I'm missing ...

This is NOT Bluetooth spec 1.2

Pros: Reading the comments I see it works for most.
Cons: This product is NOT version 1.2, check the manufacturer website.
It does not work with my LG Chocolate phone, or LG HBS 110 Bluetooth Headset.
Do your homework and read forums and such before purchasing any bluetooth products.
Between 1.1, 1.2, And 2.0, you must know what you have and are getting.
