Perfect for long trips
My 7 year old daughter spent several hours knotting the pieces of this quilt together on a 9 hour road trip. Everytime she put it down she would pick it back up and say, "one more." She didn't exactly make a quilt, she knottted a "purse" and a "hood" (mistakes turned useful) but she enjoyed it very much. What a super project!!

Great idea but inferior fabric
Durability: Fun: Educational: I ordered two of these kits as a gift for my niece with the idea that she could combine them and make a nice lap quilt. When they arrived, I was very disappointed to see the fabric was thin - more like something you would make pajamas out of. I was expecting the kit to be made of fleece to make a warm and cuddly blanket. Instead, it was more like knit flannel. I returned the kits and will keep looking.

A well-appreciated gift.
Durability: Fun: Educational: A while ago I sent this as a gift for a tween. They live in another state, so I never did get to see the finished results. However, the family reported to me that Alex Knot a Quilt inspired hours of creative play and the effort was very well worth it because the results are beautiful.
The components are good quality, and the kit actually produces a beautiful, useful object.

I recommend this product!
Durability: Fun: Educational: I am a preschool director and we used this product with fabric markers to create a quilt for our school's annual fundraiser. Each child decorated two squares and our room mothers helped tie it together. It turned out beautifully!

Great craft for 5-7 year old!
Durability: Fun: Educational: this was the #1 item our then-kindergartener wanted for Christmas. She needed supervision so as to not get the knots mis-aligned --- but she's very pleased with herself that she pretty much did this on her own. If you have a little one interested in fabric crafts - I highly recommend it.

Fun with Granddaughters
Durability: Fun: Educational: I purchased two sets as Christmas gifts so have not yet seen them in action. They look to be exactly what I'm looking for to spend time with my 7 and 9-year-old granddaughters. The plan is to have them personalize some of the squares with machine embroidery before tieing them together. I'm anxious to see how each assembles hers in a unique way. I love quality time projects!

Great project for kids 9+
Durability: Fun: Educational: I bought the Knot a Quilt for my 6 and 8 year old for a long car drive hoping to give them something to do. They loved the idea of making their own blanket, but had a hard time doing it for a long period of time without any help. My eight year old had a little trouble with it, and my six year old needed help with keeping the knots in order, it was frustrating for her.Overall, they liked it but I would recommend it for 9+ age group...
